Biography

I am Visiting Research Fellow with a research specialism in local literary studies.  I have run two short courses, Stoke-in-Print I and II, for Humanities Continuing Education and am working on a monograph 'Pits, Pots & Poets: Stoke-on-Trent's Literary Heritage'.  I am Vice Chair of the Arnold Bennett Society and have a role as Heritage Champion in association with the City Council's 10-year Culture Strategy.  Prior to this I have held posts at Liverpool and Staffordshire Universities and have published on literary theory (deconstruction, feminism) and post-war women's writing.  I have, in addition, a particular interest in food in fiction.
