Students rank Keele among country's best for creative subjects
Creative courses at Keele University have been ranked among the best in the country for student positivity in a prestigious national ranking.
The 2023 National Student Survey (NSS) has seen a suite of subjects aligned to creative disciplines ranking among the top 10 in England, including Creative Writing ranking 2nd in England, and Film Studies and Media ranking 10th in England, with students rating teaching, academic support, and learning opportunities and resources very highly.
The NSS is a high-profile annual survey of nearly half a million final year undergraduate students across the UK. The survey gathers opinions from students about their time in higher education, asking them to provide honest feedback on what is has been like to study on their course at their university or college.
Students are asked to rate how positively they feel about a number of factors of their course including teaching, support, and resources.
Professor Nick Seager, Head of the School of Humanities at Keele, said: "The academics in creative writing, media, and film at Keele are experts and dedicated teachers. They support students to produce amazing creative work, which students have shown off at national film awards and through publication in creative writing anthologies.
“We're especially proud of opportunities our students are given to apply what they've worked on at Keele in real world settings, which has helped prepare students for life after university."
