Directorate of Human Resources

To work in collaboration, in building a sustainable high performance organisation in which all staff feel properly engaged and who are enabled to make an effective and relevant contribution.

The Directorate provides a diverse range of services to staff here at Keele University through the Departments of Human Resources, Occupational Health and Health & Safety.

Human Resources led by Nic Ratcliffe, Deputy Director of HR, delivers a range of people services across the University through the following teams:

The Resourcing and Talent Management team, which includes our HR Administration Services, supports the University in achieving its current and future staffing requirements and provides strategic support for workforce and succession planning.

The Employee Relations team support staff and managers with employee lifecycle queries.

The Policy, Projects and EDI team supports the University in advancing the current People and EDI Strategies and aspirations. 

Payroll & Pensions who are responsible for the provision of a professional and effective payroll and pensions service for the University’s employees, dealing with all pay and University pension scheme membership matters.

Organisational Development who deliver a range of professional development opportunities which are open to all groups of staff.

Departments of Occupational Health and Health & Safety – ensure statutory Heath and Safety compliance and provides a range of staff and student facing health support services – including a full staff occupational health service and staff wellbeing facility

The Directorate is responsible also for the provision of the Day Nursery.

The Directorate works collaboratively across all areas of the University in support of its strategic vision which is headlined at the top of this introduction.
