Responsible Procurement

Flexible Framework

In line with the Universities Strategic Plan and Aims in particular Aim 5 , June 2015 saw the launch of an ambitious new partnership between the Procurement and Sustainability teams - the Flexible Framework.

With e-procurement now fully embedded, the procurement team have been looking for their next challenge and have found it in the  Flexible Framework, which was developed to help organisations demonstrate the sustainability credentials of their processes and practice.

The team have worked hard to demonstrate commitment and dedication towards embedding sustainability within procurement

practice and can now say that Level 4 of the Flexible Framework has successfully been achieved.

Achieving this ambition has only been possible with support from staff and students across the University so thank you from the Procurement Team.  Look out for further opportunities to get involved if you buy goods and services on behalf of the University.

Recycle with Warp It

Keele University use ‘Warp It’ to redistribute and reuse surplus items internally and externally to our partners. Warp It makes it very easy for staff to give and get surplus items to/from other staff.

What items can be reused through Warp It?

Mostly reusable furniture, electrical equipment, fixtures and fittings, office consumables (such as stationery and ink jet cartridges), lab equipment, supplies and medical equipment - but any resource really. As long as it is legal, it can be transferred.

How do I register?

  • Visit their homepage here: www.warp-it.co.uk/company/keeleuniversity (make sure you bookmark it). Hit the big green button which says ‘register’. Once you register, you will receive further instructions.
