Chancellor's building informal learning space

Feedback from our students over a number of years clearly indicated that we needed more informal learning space for everyone to use. Chancellor’s Building, as the largest teaching facility, was chosen for an update and refurbishment to create this much needed space by refurbishing the Foyer, Gallery and Exhibition Hall adjacent to Westminster Theatre.

During the summer students fed back on the initial designs; they wanted less frills and more seating. This was achieved by the project.

Three zones were created:

Zone 1 (currently The Foyer)

A short stay area for people immediately before and after lectures with seating to enjoy a coffee or meet for a chat.

Zone 2 (currently The Gallery)

Comfortable, cosy and relaxing. Somewhere to chill out and be calm during a busy day.

Zone 3 (currently The Exhibition Suite)

Ideal for group study and catching up with friends from the Keele Community.
