Fire

Fire - always raise the alarm at once

Always call the fire service on 9-999 giving the correct address

Always call Campus Safety on 888 or 01782 733999

Gas

If you smell gas:

• Don’t operate electric switches on or off
• Don’t smoke or use mobile phones
• Don’t leave it to someone else to report
• Do open doors and windows to ventilate the gas if the smell is inside
• Do make sure your colleagues leave the area where you smelled gas
• Do report the smell of gas by calling the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999 then call Campus Safety on 888 or 01782 733999

Provide to the National Gas Emergency Service the following:

• Name
• Address or location
• Post Code – if known
• Details of the gas leak
• Listen and act upon the advice given

Provide to Campus Safety:

• Name
• Address or location
• Telephone number – fixed or mobile – not near the place where you smelled gas
