I’m a middle-aged bisexual who has been through social services three times to adopt four wonderful children. We were in fact the first male gay couple to adopt in Stoke-on-Trent which raised several ‘interesting’ conversations/road bumps.
Working in life sciences really made me appreciate the importance of role models. I have had a fair few students come to see me over the years to discuss sexuality. It has made me realise how difficult coming out can be even in a fully caring and accepting environment.
