Breaking the Mould awards

Breaking the Mould shines a spotlight on the growing innovation-led organisations, businesses, not-for-profits and charities that have benefitted from the suite of innovative support programmes that are available from Keele University.

The 2023 awards took place on Thursday 19 October at Keele University, and were hosted by one of television's best-loved broadcasters, Natasha Kaplinsky.

Keele University’s landmark celebration of organisations from across Staffordshire and beyond – Breaking the Mould – will return in autumn 2025 as part of a new biennial format.

The awards have recognised almost 100 businesses, organisations and individuals for their innovation, ingenuity and success since launching in 2019, and plans are already underway for how the 2025 edition can build on Breaking the Mould’s legacy and continue to celebrate the creativity and collaborative spirit of the area’s business community.

Keele University is committed to supporting businesses and organisations, both locally and further afield, and has a wide range of initiatives, opportunities and events available. To find out more, visit
