Prunus 'jacqueline'

A vigorous uptight tree to 10m with a spread to 7m. The flowers are single, 4cm across and intense pink, appearing before the leaves. Young foliage is coppery, turning green over summer then a brilliant orange-red in autumn.

It originated at Kalmthout Arboretum, Belgium before being first propagated and introduced to the UK in 2010 by Chris Lane of Witchazel Nursery.

Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit 2012.
