Keele academic invited to the White House
Dr Mark Eccleston-Turner, Lecturer in Law at Keele University, was invited to attend the White House and the Pentagon in Washington D.C. recently.
Dr Eccleston-Turner attended meetings and met with members of both the National Security Council and the US Department of Defence to discuss global health security matters.
On the agenda was the ongoing outbreak of Ebola in the Democratic Republic of the Congo - which Dr Eccleston-Turner has recently published about in The Lancet and The Conversation. Dr Eccleston-Turner was also in Washington D.C. as part of his Emerging Leaders in Biosecurity Fellowship at John Hopkins University.
