Previously-funded projects

Congratulations to previous successful projects funded through the Keele Key Fund, and huge thanks to all supporters who have donated to enable such creative and innovative projects. 

Read about some of the most recent projects below.

Successful projects in 2023 included:

  • Community Meals Kits, given out for free to students to support them through the cost-of-living crisis
  • A contribution towards replacing the Response Car used by the Keele Community First Responders, used to respond to local emergencies 
  • A sustainability and climate change photo competition, with entries displayed in Chapters Café and projected onto Keele University Chapel
  • Enabling the Keele University Gospel Choir to enable its members to compete in the University Gospel Choir of the Year 2023
  • The Earth Stories Film Festival, an international environmental film festival which received over 2,500 film submissions
  • Sewing and craft supplies to enable 'Welcome Wednesdays', a group run by Keele's Out of Hours Support team to provide a community and alcohol-free space for students in the early hours each Wednesday night
  • The Postgraduate Café Retreat - a writing, reading and community retreat in the Peak District for postgraduate students
  • New equipment for Men's Lacrosse, Women's Cricket and Aerial Dance
  • A new Keele mascot costume of Scruffy the Squirrel!
  • Improved society meeting space at Keele SU
  • Training and equipment for Women's Football

  • A mental wellness campaign around poetry - KeeleSU Volunteering 
  • 'Mean Girls' The Musical, put on by the Musical theatre Society
  • Acquiring helmets for the Men's Lacrosse Club
  • Making cricket more accessible (Men's Cricket)
  • Chocolate, Law and Dinosaurs - using podcats to support learning and building online communities at Keele (School of Law)
  • Purchasing aerial equipment for the Aerial Dance Scoeity to run aerial silks classes

  • Keele Postgraduate Association (KPA) - Easter Festival
  • Women's & Men's Rugby Club- New training equipment
  • Karate Club- New training equipment
