Workshop: Walk & Draw

FREE Walk-and-draw workshops for Keele University Community, Students, Staff and Alumni

Join ArtsKeele and guest artists for monthly guided walk-and-draw workshops, once a month on a Wednesday. Materials provided, no experience necessary!

December's workshop will make use of mono printing techniques. We will walk to gather materials and ideas, come back to sketch out our ideas, and then bring them to life in a black-and-white print.

We'll take a short walk around Keele, exploring the grounds, walled gardens and other beautiful spots, taking inspiration from the natural and built environment. We'll gather things to draw from, and weather depending will returning to an indoor space to continue, or continue to draw outdoors.

Workshops are FREE but places are limited. Please register with your Keele University email address.

  • Meet at Keele Hall at 1pm
  • Materials will be provided
  • No experience necessary
  • Please wear weather and workshop-appropriate clothing (waterproofs if raining)

About the artist

December's guest artist is Charné Visser.

Charné Visser is a South African artist who explores themes of identity and representation through portraiture. Her work is experimental in that she often mixes mediums, creating textures and patterns to further her conceptual themes. She aims to balance realism with personal expression, producing works that are nuanced and individualistic. Although she specialises in portraiture, she enjoys dabbling in printmaking techniques when tackling other subject matter.
