Keele Hall Readings: Roz Goddard and Deborah Alma

Roz Goddard has published four collections of poems, the most recent, the acutely observed, streetwise and bittersweet The Sopranos Sonnets and Other Poems (Nine Arches Press) featured on BBC Radio 3’s The Verb.

Spill (Flarestack) is Roz’s latest pamphlet and these deeply personal poems bristle with honesty and tenderness as they explore the transformative relationship between love,
loss and spirituality.

Keele alumna and Honorary Research Fellow Deborah Alma’s debut poetry collection Dirty Laundry published by Nine Arches Press is raucous, daring and honest, drawing contemporary women’s lives and those of our foremothers into the spotlight.

“Haunted by violence, yet refusing to be silent, rooted in the body as a way of experiencing the world and unafraid in their sensuality, these are poems that examine women’s lives in all their complexity, woven through with imagery that lingers in the mind and the heart long after you finish reading.” Kim Moore
