Plan Your Journey

Whether you're travelling a few miles down the road or half way across the world, preparation is key to make your move to Keele as smooth as possible.

Keele University is committed to sustainability, and encourages staff, students and visitors to the campus to use public transport where possible. The main University Campus is located on the outskirts of Newcastle-under-Lyme. It is within easy reach of all major road networks and close to the major railway stations at Stoke-on-Trent and Crewe. Once you arrive at Keele, Welcome Ambassadors and University staff will help you to find where you need to go.

A taxi from Stoke-on-Trent train station will take around 20 minutes and should cost about £8. There is a taxi rank just outside the station. If you have a lot of luggage you may want to ask the taxi driver to wait whilst you collect your room key.

Getting the bus from Stoke-on-Trent train station couldn’t be easier. The Potteries First bus service 25 leaves the stop opposite the station entrance and takes about 30-45 minutes to reach the university.

At selected times of the year, International Student Support operates a FREE Meet and Greet Airport Collection service for all new international students who are arriving in the UK for the first time.

The meet and greet service will be available for September arrivals from both Manchester International Airport and London Heathrow Airport on Wednesday 25 September. There is the possibility of a limited second day of Meet & Greet Airport Collection on Thursday 26 September. Please email for more information. The online registration form will be available from 1 August 2019 until 18 September 2019.

Our friendly Welcome Ambassadors will be waiting with banners and smiles at the designated area within the airport. They will welcome you to the UK and ensure you are safely transported to the Keele campus.

Please note: We offer this service free-of-charge and must therefore maximise the occupancy of each transfer to Keele. We apologise in advance as this may result in a delay between your arrival at the airport and the service departure. If you would prefer to make your own way, please complete the registration form to declare this and specific instructions on how to reach Keele at your own cost by public transport will be sent to you.
