Vice - Chancellor's Forums 2017: Keele in the Community

The Vice Chancellor’s forums have proved to be popular events since their inception nearly three years ago. I am planning to hold four forums this year under the theme of “Keele in the Community”.  As you know one of the six key aims of the University Strategic Plan Strategic Aim 4, has Keele in the community at the heart of it: “To contribute positively to the society, economy, culture, health and well-being of the communities we serve.” The four forums I plan to host relate directly to this strategic aim.

The date and subject of the Vice Chancellor’s forums are as follows:

Tuesday 21st February 2017 – Arts & Culture

Wednesday 5th April 2017 – The Role of the University in the Region – “The Keele Deal”

Monday 5th June 2017 - Health in the Community (Cancelled)

Monday 3rd July 2017 - Mental Health

Each of the forums will take the form of a small group debate involving 15 – 18 people from across the University and will take place between 12 noon and 2pm. Lunch will be provided. Further details of the issues to be discussed within each of the forums will be circulated nearer the date of each forum.

The Vice-Chancellor’s forums have been established to help create room for debate of broad institutional issues involving a cross section of staff and students (where appropriate) from across the University. More information about the background to the Vice-Chancellor forums can be found at the Vice-Chancellor’s Office section of the website:

If you would like to take part in the forums, could you please apply for a place by emailing Howard Bell in the Vice-Chancellor’s Office at by Friday, 10th February 2017.

The invite to take part in these forums is extended to both staff and students.
