I have previously applied for a job at Keele University and have forgotten my login details.
Please use the ‘Forgotten your password’ link at the bottom of the ‘Existing user log in’ page. You will be prompted to enter your email address and your username and password will be emailed to you. If you are an existing Keele member of staff and have forgotten your log in details to Employee Self Service then contact the IT service desk at email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
I am neither a current member of staff at Keele University nor am I a previous applicant. How do I log in?
Select the vacancy for which you wish to apply and choose ‘apply online’. You will be taken to a log in page where you can register your details as a new user.
I have previously applied for a Keele University vacancy but my login details will not work. I have tried to use the ‘Forgotten your password’ link on the log in page but my email address is not recognised. How can I apply for the vacancy?
Keele University introduced a new online recruitment system on the 4 April 2016. If your application was submitted before this date you will need to register as a new user.
Do I receive an acknowledgement when I submit my application form to you?
Once submitted, applicants will automatically receive an acknowledgement advising that their application has been submitted successfully.
How do I know if I have been shortlisted for an interview?
We advise candidates to look at the proposed shortlisting and interview dates that may be listed on the advert or the details of the post. Once shortlisting has been completed, you will be advised by email on the progress of your application - this could be to advise you that your application has been unsuccessful or that you are invited to attend for an interview.
Feedback on applications or interviews can be provided by contacting the named individual on the advert / job details.
I do not have time to complete the application form can I send in just my CV for a job advertised?
No, our application forms are designed to ensure that we have all the information we need for the shortlisting process. We do not accept CVs in place of an application form; however, you may attach a CV as a supporting document to your online application.
I saw a job advertised on your website but it’s not there anymore, can I still apply?
No, if the job is no longer on the website this means that the closing date has passed and the job can no longer be applied for.
Why is it necessary for me to complete the Equal Opportunities information as part of the application form?
We have an equal opportunities policy which aims to ensure that no job applicant or employee receives less than favourable treatment on the grounds of age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, race, marital and civil partnership status, pregnancy / maternity, religion or belief and gender re-assignment. In order that we can measure the effectiveness of this policy, we need to collect information about our job applicants.
When your application is received, the Equal Opportunities information is not forwarded to the recruiting manager and therefore will not be considered during shortlisting and interviews.
I consider myself to have a disability, can you provide any adjustments to the interview process?

I cannot submit my application form as the apply button is not available to click on.
Please review the summary page on your application and ensure that all sections have been completed - this will be indicated by a green circle and a white tick against each section.
I have not received an acknowledgement email to indicate that my application has been submitted.
Log in to the vacancies web page and click on ‘My Applications’. Please review the application details and ensure that the application is listed as having been submitted. If your application is listed under the ‘In progress applications’ section, please click on ‘Update’ ensure that all sections of the application form have been completed, then click on ‘Apply’ followed by ‘Apply Now’ on the second screen.
I have submitted my application and now wish to make amendments. Can I do this?
It is strongly recommended that you preview your application form and check the details thoroughly prior to submitting it. However, if you do wish to make any amendments to a submitted application you will need to firstly contact the Recruitment Team in order for your application to be withdrawn and you will then have to resubmit your application if you to still be considered for the vacancy.
How do I provide my documents to prove my eligibility to work in the UK?
Anyone offered employment or casual work will need to arrange a meeting with a member of the HR Administration Team prior to commencement of employment, so that original documentation can be inspected and copied.
Please provide the required document(s); details of acceptable documents are available on the Right to Work Checklist .
Original documents must be provided from either List A or List B of acceptable documents.
If I cannot provide eligibility to work from the Right to Work Checklist, do I require a Certificate of Sponsorship?
Yes, if you cannot provide the relevant documentation, as outlined in the Right to Work Checklist, you will require a certificate of sponsorship to enable you to take up your position with Keele. If this is the case please go to the UK Visas and Immigration website for further details. When applying you will need to indicate that you require a certificate of sponsorship/work permit and if your application is successful we will be in touch to make the necessary arrangements.
