Keele Climate Panel

 The role of universities in tackling climate change, a green recovery and a just transition".  

This panel discussion has been organised to be part of the annual Solve Climate international festival, founded by Bard College, USA. The aim is to help Universities worldwide to engage fully and effectiveluy in making a significant contribution to driving environmental change. www.solveclimateby2030.org

This session will explore Green Recovery, Climate Solutions and a Just Transition through and interactive Q&A. The event is open to all.

The panel comprises:

Professor Zoe Robinson

Zoe is a Professor of Sustainability Higher Education specialising in the emerging field of ‘Sustainability Science’. Zoe was awarded a National Teaching Fellowship in 2012 for her institutional and national work in the field of Education for Sustainable Development and employability, and awarded Principle Fellow Status of the Higher Education Academy for her institutional sustainability leadership.  Zoe plays a leading role in the sustainability agenda at Keele University, and specifically has a University role as Director of Education for Sustainability, with responsibility for embedding sustainability in the curriculum and wider student experience.

Elliot Jones

Elliot is Keele's Energy Manager and is responsible for reporting on energy, carbon and water management. Elliot plays a key role in flagship sustainability projects including the Smart Energy Network Demonstrator (SEND), the campus renewables project, and driving energy efficiency improvements across the campus. 

Dr Helen Millward 

Helen is a Teaching Fellow in Marketing and is the PRME and Sustainability Lead at Keele Business School.

Tom Guilbert Newell

Tom is a 3rd year Environment and Sustainability student who has been involved in local and national activism and sustainable volunteering opportunities on and off campus.

Chair - Serena Bashal 

Serena is a final year Mathematics and Biology student who has been engaging with the United Nations since 2016, namely with UN Climate Change, and will be chairing the Q&A.
