Thomas Trillo, Accounting and Business Management, 2017
Why did you choose to study at Keele Management School (KMS)?
The opportunity to gain recognition in two subject areas through the dual honours courses offered by KMS greatly appealed to me as I was unsure which subject I favoured more. This meant that I was able to pursue my interests in both Accounting and Business Management.
What do you enjoy most about studying at KMS?
The teaching and support provided by KMS is exceptional. All staff I have encountered are approachable, professional and have a genuine desire to see you succeed. This makes approaching complex topics and assignments much easier due to the knowledge that help is there if you need it.
What advice would you give to someone thinking about studying at KMS?
Don't be afraid to ask questions. If there is ever anything that you are unsure of or worried about, just send your tutor an email and ask to meet up. Tutors are always happy to help and, at the end of the day, they just want you to do well.
Would you recommend KMS/Keele University to friends considering university?
Absolutely, Keele is a fantastic place to live and study. The support available from tutors and staff and the relaxed campus setting make the transition to university life much easier.
What are your plans for the future?
To work alongside studying for the ACA accounting qualification in order to become a Chartered Accountant.
How do you anticipate that your degree will benefit you in your chosen career path?
Aside from the obvious accounting knowledge which I have gained from my degree, my studies in Business Management have given me a rounded understanding of organisations and the wider business environment. This will hopefully allow me to gain greater understanding of the effects of change upon a business and will ultimately make me a better accountant in the long term.
What did you like about the supporting services at KMS/Keele University?
Having a personal tutor is great for discussing non-academic problems and the careers and employability services is a fantastic resource - especially for final year students.
