Nursing Associate Foundation Degree (FdSc)

We are planning to launch a Nursing Associate Foundation Degree (FdSc) and hope to welcome our first intake in September 2025. 

This course is ‘subject to validation’ which means that it is in the last stages of the validation process, awaiting final approval. Validation is a rigorous process undertaken with academic staff, students, independent subject experts and employers to ensure the course is of high quality, and able to prepare students well for their future employment or further study. Validation is not guaranteed. 

About the programme

The Nursing Associate Foundation Degree (FdSc) at Keele University is designed to nurture individuals to make a difference in the workplace. The programme has a practical approach to the knowledge, skills and behaviour development required to be a Nursing Associate. It is designed for anyone looking to become a Nursing Associate who works in a caring role and has a desire to develop their healthcare career. The programme is delivered alongside apprentices studying on our established Nursing Associate Apprenticeship (FdSc).

Entry requirements

The Nursing Associate Foundation Degree (FdSc) typically requires:

  • Some experience in a care setting.
  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade C (4) or accepted equivalent such as Functional Skills.
  • Your place on the course the place is subject to successful DBS Check and Occupational Health Clearance.
