G W T Barnett Postgraduate Memorial Bursary

The G W T Barnett Scholarship Fund was established in memory of the late George W T Barnett, the proprietor of a geophysical business in Shrewsbury, working with the mining industry.

This bursary is designed to foster research in mining geophysics. It is open to postgraduate students to enable them to undertake research or pieces of fieldwork, to attend international conferences, to give papers, to participate in poster displays, or in other similar scholarly activities. Recipients are expected to submit a written report on their use of the bursary within two months of completion of their project.

This prize will be listed on the HEAR, and will be announced at graduation.

MSc Environmental Sustainability and Green Technology Prize for Best Dissertation

Award type: Cheque
Amount: £50

The prize is to be awarded annually to the student who achieves the best performance in their dissertation, as identified by the overall mark awarded. This will be ratified by the programme Exam Board and a recommendation made to the Head of School, who will then recommend to Senate.

This prize will be listed on the HEAR, and will be announced at graduation.

MSc Geoscience Research Prize for Best Dissertation

This prize is issued annually to the student who produces the best dissertation, as identified by the overall mark awarded.
