What did you do after graduation and how did you get this job?

Way before graduation I updated and uploaded my CV to various websites. I was contacted about this job by a recruitment agency. I had two interviews and gave a presentation related to this position. The company then sponsored me so that I and my family became temporary UK residents.

What does your job involve?

I manage specific accounts in Europe, developing business plans, sales strategies, assessing the market (country specific) through different sources.  The job also involves much travelling across Europe, organising meetings and, of course, enjoying delicious local cuisine with the clients!

What did you learn on the MSc Environmental Sustainability & Green Technology which helped you get the job, or helps with your role now?

The job involves a lot of politics, since it deals with the importing of air conditioning products. The most sensitive subject at the moment is the European F-Gas regulation.  Environmental policy awareness and knowledge is essential in this business.

Do you have any advice for current/prospective MSc Environmental Sustainability & Green Technology students interested in a similar career?

Build relationships, get involved, participate in events, get to know and understand what is happening around the globe. Good grades can only take you so far!
