Noreen qualified as as social worker in 1987 and then went on to practice in children and family social work for nearly 20 years - a successful career in Social Work; working in the area of children and family social work.  Latterly as a Senior Practitioner, as well as specialising in Family Adoption and Fostering. Prior to moving into Social Work education in 2004 Noreen was a Child Protection Multi-Agency trainer. Noreen worked at Chester University prior to joining the Keele where she was Programme Leader for the Under Graduate Programme and led on the innovative Step Up to Social Work Programme. Noreen joined the Keele Social Work Team in 2012 where she teaches on the MA in Child Care Law and Practice and on both post graduate and undergraduate social work programmes. Noreen will be taking up the position of Director of Under Graduate Social Work at Keele in September 2013. She has been awarded the Advanced Child Care Award and holds a Masters (with distinction) in Child Care Law and Practice. Noreen is currently undertaking a Professional Doctorate in Social Work (From Policy to Practice:– the Social Work Experience of Inter Professional Practice.  In addition to teaching Noreen also supervises students in the field, leads on inter-professional education in social work,  is year tutor for undergraduate level 2 students and is personal tutor to around 20 students.
