Sport Relief have partnered up with British Rowing to raise money and raise awareness of mental health in a project called Row Britannia.

Universities have been challenged with rowing 2,020 miles and raise a total of £3,000 by March 2020 - and Keele has taken on the challenge!

We are asking both our university students & staff to round up a team, or take on a challenge solo, setting a target and contributing to the overall university effort.

Want to get involved contact Mike (m.d.huss@keele.ac.uk) or Naomi (n.parton@keele.ac.uk)!

There are lots of challenges you could set, these include:

- British Channel: 21 miles

- River Severn: 220 miles

- Atlantic: 3,120 miles

The challenge takes place from now until 13th March 2020, so it can be done all in one go or spread out over a few months.

We have a rowing machine permanently placed at our Sports Centre reception, along with a log book if you want to track your distance there. We will also be featuring in various locations across campus, running #ergontour sessions. These will include visits to Chancellors, David Weatherall and KeeleSU.

If teams would like us to include their office/building into the tour dates please drop us an email: n.parton@keele.ac.uk or m.d.huss@keele.ac.uk.

We will also be running one-off events - so make sure you keep a look out on our social media pages!

Once you have completed your challenge please share your good news stories with us on social media (Facebook Sport Keele, Twitter @sportkeele, Instagram @sport_keele), tell us how far you've managed to get and take some pictures & make sure you use the hashtag #rowbritannia for #sportrelief

Fundraising:

This is such an important part of this initiative, yes we want our campus active, but we also want to give back to this worthy cause.

Please direct all fundraising efforts to the University Row Britannia Just Giving page;

and help us reach that target of £3,000!
