Mountaineering

Keele Mountaineering Club is one of the most established clubs at the University.

Whether you've been climbing all your life or have never even looked at a wall before, anyone of any level is welcome to come give it a go! We are a friendly and relaxed club, full of like-minded outdoorsy people. We meet Tuesdays and Thursdays 7-9pm at our own wall in Keele, but often visit other walls nearby too. Climbing is a fun way to keep fit and socialise without having to attend compulsory training sessions. We regularly embark on trips to Wales, the Lakes and the Peak District for a weekend of climbing/hiking/scrambling and FUN! Often as low as £15 including food and accommodation! Membership to our club also gets you membership to the British Mountaineering Council (BMC) which covers you for mountaineering and climbing insurance and gives you a discount card to use at outdoor shops. Don't stay cooped up in your room, come join us outdoors for some fresh air in the beautiful countryside with our friendly and welcoming bunch.
