Rowing

Keele University Boat Club (KUBC) is a recently established rowing club which has grown exponentially since it’s conception in 2010, now having over 60 male and female rowers. KUBC is based at Rudyard Lake, a beautiful 2.7km long reservoir, and shares a boat house with North Staffs Rowing Club. Rowing is an addictive sport which provides a great deal of fun, friendship and an incredible level of fitness. We are an all-inclusive club and welcome a large intake of members each year, regardless of experience. Those who are looking to experience the sport for the first time will be placed in the Novice Squad. These teams will be focused on developing technique, fitness levels in addition to racing at competitions throughout the year. For proficient rowers, there is the option to join the Senior Squad at a recreational or competitive level. Those who wish to compete at higher levels will be placed in crews of similar ability and are expected to commit to training several times a week with the aim to place highly at either local events, or large event highlights such as BUCS Head Race or BUCS Regatta. KUBC also has a fantastic social scene, ensuring regular socials at the Student Union, meals out, charity events, local trips and an annual tour in a country voted upon by members. Come and find us at the Fresher’s Fair and see why joining KUBC means joining a family like no other! If you would like any further information please contact the club at au.boatclub@keele.ac.uk
