This programme allows you to approach education as a multi-dimensional discipline, exploring educational issues through economic, social, political and professional lenses. It is aimed at educational practitioners, including those wishing to prepare for original research at postgraduate level, or seeking a career in education leadership and management in the UK and internationally.
PhD / MPhil
Research into education policy draws on a diversity of intellectual traditions, including critical social policy, poststructuralist theories of governance, feminism, theories of identity and cultural studies.
The programme has been specifically designed for professionals - practitioners, policy-makers, leaders and managers, academics and teachers - at all levels of education, from early childhood through further and higher education, to lifelong learning.
Initial Teacher Training Education
We are pleased that you are considering Keele as a place to start your future teaching career. Initial Teacher Education (ITE) provision at Keele is offered via one year School Centred Initial Teacher Training routes (SCITT) in both Primary and Secondary. Those successfully undertaking their training through these routes will be awarded with a PGCE along with the recommendation for Qualified Teacher Status. We also offer the scholarship aspect of the PGCE as a free-standing academic award.
