Five of our International Relations second years were awarded United Nations Association bursaries to attend an evening celebrating life and legacy of Kofi Annan

This celebration of Annan’s life and legacy was hosted London's prestigious Methodist Central Hall Westminster - where the first UN Secretary-General was appointed over 70 years ago. Speakers included,  Amina J. Mohammed, UN Deputy Secretary-General; Mary Robinson, former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights; Lord Mark Malloch Brown, former UN Deputy Secretary-General;  and Sherrie Westin, President of Global Impact and Philanthropy at Sesame Street in conversation with Kami, the HIV-positive Muppet from Takalani Sesame in South Africa.

The photograph shows our students together with Mary Robinson, a former President of Ireland who was appointed by Kofi Annan as the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in 1997.
