Software and Systems Engineering
We carry out research in the areas of complex systems, computational systems, knowledge modelling, human-computer interaction (HCI), user-centred design (UCD), ‘big data’ analytics, e-Learning and biological system design, explainable AI and responsible AI. We also have research interests in computer vision, cultural informatics, wearable systems and health technologies. Together our research themes have applications and strong relevance to health, education and smart energy.
Our main research themes are Software Engineering, Systems & Usability Engineering, Complex Systems, eXplainable and responsible AI. and we are also the academic base for the Keele Smart Energy Network Demonstrator.
Please see our Research Opportunities.
We are always very happy to discuss research collaborations and PhD opportunities. Email enquiries are very welcome to the research group leader: Dr Sandra Woolley (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Systematic Review Online Survey: If you would like to take part in the 'Systematic Review Online Survey' please click the link here. It will be used to measure the impact of the Systematic Review (SR) Toolbox upon users. The results will be used to support part of an Impact Case Study for the School of Computing and Maths at Keele University (if you have any questions please contact Professor Peter Andras).
