Women Leading in AI

Allison Gardner co-organised a new national innovation along with the Fabian Women's Network called 'Women Leading in AI'. Allison hosted a panel 'Uses and Development of AI' at the first gathering which took place on 22nd May 2018 at the London School of Economics.

The innovation is a cross-platform event linking leading women in AI from academia, business, think tanks, public sector and politics to discuss key issues in AI. It was sponsored by the Fabians, Deepmind, Gemserve and Soda Digital and credit was given to Keele University and the Ada Lovelace Institute as partner organisations.

Allison is planning to have a meeting in Westminster with Yvette Cooper at some point to discuss using this as a platform to look into how more women can be encouraged to go into Comp Sci and AI.

More information can be found on the conference website here.

The event was featured on BBC Radio 4, top Italian newspaper Corriere Della Sera, as well as a feature in The Guardian. There is also an excellent blog on the day here.
