Geophysical Fluid Dynamics summer program in Massachusetts

Dr Dan Lucas participated in the Geophysical Fluid Dynamics summer program at the Wood’s Hole Oceanographic Institute in Massachusetts for the past two weeks. This was the 60th year of the GFD program at Wood’s Hole and it brought together graduate students and experts in geophysical fluids from around the world.

On 3rd July Dr Lucas presented a seminar on his research on 'horizontally sheared stratified turbulence' and interacted with fellows and staff during his stay at Walsh Cottage.

The GFD program fosters a unique research environment, where fellows conduct research projects throughout the summer which Dr Lucas is hoping to contribute to with a project this year and he also hopes to return for future programs.
