Centre for Research on Environmental Action and Thought

CREATe brings together academics and postgraduate students at Keele who do research on environmental politics with a particular focus on action and thought.

Centre for Comparative Politics and Policy

The Centre brings together academics and postgraduate students at Keele who undertake research in democracy, governance, political institutions, political behaviour, representation, and numerous aspects of public policy.

Centre for Political Theory and Political Philosophy

A platform for all theoretical, analytical and normative research on political questions.

Centre for Global Studies

All members work on aspects of global politics, particularly global security, international development, and war, culture and society.

Southeast Europe Unit

Members of this unit research various aspects of the remaking of Southeast Europe in the wake of the collapse of communism in the east, and in the context of an ongoing integration with the west.

Britain and Europe Unit

Research about the referendum campaign in the UK, the vote to leave the EU, and the ongoing aftermath, together make an unprecedented period in British and indeed European politics.

Keele Institute for Social Inclusion

Some of our researchers are also associated with Keele Institute for Social Inclusion, which draws together a vibrant community of partners across sectors to tackle the issues of inequality on a local, national and global scale. The Institute promotes and supports a wide range of interdisciplinary research, co-created with external partners, that seeks to identify, explain and overcome social, economic, political and cultural obstacles to egalitarian respect and social inclusion.

Green Keele

Some of our researchers are also associated with Green Keele. We are living through a climate emergency. At Keele we're leading the sector in sustainability, not just in our ambitions to become carbon neutral by 2030 but also through our teaching and our groundbreaking research into climate change and renewable technologies.
