Cover image in prestigious publication
An image taken from a recent publication from Dr Divya Chari's laboratory at the Research Institute for Science and Technology in Medicine, has featured as the cover of the January issue of the American Chemical Society's journal ACS Chemical Neuroscience (Jenkins et al, Identifying the Cellular Targets of Drug Action in the Central Nervous System Following Corticosteroid Therapy, 2014; DOI: 10.1021/cn400167n, art designer Dr Stuart Jenkins).
The image shows glucocorticoid receptor expression in the various classes of support cells of the brain, collectively called neuroglia.
The study was a collaborative effort between Dr Chari's laboratory, Dr Carl Mann, Consultant Neurologist at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire and Dr Richard Emes, Director of the Advanced Data Analysis Centre at Nottingham university.
The work was part-funded by the North Staffordshire Medical Institute.
