Provisional Registration for Raven Mason Collection

The trustees of the Raven Mason Collection housed at Keele University are proud to announce that the collection has been awarded Provisional Registration under the Museum Accreditation Scheme administered by the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council.

Harry Frost, MA, Museum curator of the collection, said, “The trustees and the University are absolutely thrilled to receive this marvellous news. This new status recognises the work we have all done to place this important local collection in its rightful place amongst other recognised museums throughout the country.”

The collection was originally lovingly assembled by three members of the Raven family, two brothers and their sister Dame Kathleen. The Raven Mason Collection was presented to Keele University in 1993 and is held in Trust.

This specialist ceramic collection of Mason’s Ironstone and China covering 200 years of manufacture is magnificently housed at Keele Hall on the University campus.

Open days to view the collection are regularly held during the summer months the next one being held on Tuesday 26th October. Admission is free between 10am - 4pm.
