Welcome to REaDAPt

REaDAPt - Relationship Education and Domestic Abuse Prevention Tuition – is a two year project funded by the European Commission’s DAPHNE III violence prevention. The project aims to help young people cope with the effects of domestic violence and enhance their resilience to it. This includes domestic violence at the hands of a parent, step-parent, or within their own dating relationship. REaDAPt seeks to achieve this aim Europe-wide.

Across Europe, there is unfortunately an absence of rigorously evaluated educational interventions designed to help children know how to respond should domestic abuse arise as they enter their own intimate relationships during adolescence and adulthood.

REaDAPt aimed to overcome this by conducting a systematic evaluation of three grassroots programmes in England, France and Spain. The findings of this evaluation were used to inform a new programme – the REaDAPt Educational Toolkit. This was implemented in schools in Malta, and evaluated to assess its impact on young people’s attitudes towards domestic violence.

This website showcases the project outputs, including the evaluation report, the Educational Toolkit, the Research Toolkit and the film - Through a Child’s Eyes. These resources are free to use and download. Additionally, please see the REaDAPt brochure which provides an overview of the whole project and outputs, and is available in English, French and Spanish.
