Biography

After completing my MSc in Brain Imaging & Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of Birmingham, I have gladly returned to Keele (where I did my BSc) to pursue a Research Assistant role with Dr. Helen Williams and a part-time MPhil. The research I’m working on for the RA role is focused on recollection and familiarity processes in healthy ageing and Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI; pre-clinical phase of dementia). Specifically, the aim is to develop a theoretically driven sensitive measure that is able to effectively characterise recognition memory impairments in this special population. For my MPhil, I am currently writing up a systematic review of the existing literature that explores the earliest cognitive markers of MCI, such as impairments in episodic /recognition memory and executive dysfunction.
