Keele University is the number one institution in the UK to study Health Professions, according to the Guardian University Guide 2018.

Health Professions at Keele include Physiotherapy, Rehabilitation Science and Radiography - a brand new course for 2017 - and make up the School of Health and Rehabilitation.

Health Professions at Keele received a 99% score for student satisfaction with course, and 98% for student satisfaction with teaching - putting it first amongst 74 institutions offering Health Professions programmes in the UK.

Professor Anand Pandyan, Head of the School of Health and Rehabilitation, commented:

“We are thrilled - this is a reflection of our dedicated staff team who always put students first, and the hard work and professionalism of our students. We'll be working hard to maintain these standards and hope all our future graduates will continue to serve the needs of the global community.”

The School of Health and Rehabilitation - based on the main Keele University campus - embraces a vision of patient-centred care, with state-of-the-art equipment for teaching and student research projects, and excellent links with local healthcare providers, ensuring that students gain the hands-on experience they need to excel in their careers.

Keele has maintained its national top 40 position, and has also seen seven other subjects achieve Top 10 status:

  • Pharmacy and Pharmacology (5th in the combined table, 4th for Pharmacy)
  • Medicine (6th)
  • American Studies (8th)
  • Anatomy and Physiology (9th)
  • Nursing and Midwifery (9th)
  • Geography and Environmental Studies (9th)
  • Criminology (10th)

Professor Trevor McMillan, Vice Chancellor at Keele University, commented:

"To be placed first in the country for Health Professions, and to have seven other subjects in the UK top ten, is a fantastic achievement for Keele.

“Also, I’m delighted that the University has again been ranked in the top three nationally for student satisfaction with course and teaching quality, which is a reflection of the calibre and dedication of our staff who are committed to providing a high quality research-led education and outstanding experience for all of our students.”
