Keep Calm and Study On

Posted on 11 January 2017

Keele University students are being offered a range of activities to help them stay calm and keep healthy during the January exam period.

‘Exam Plus’ is a University-wide campaign running throughout the exam period, from 9th-20th January, to help students achieve their full potential during what can be a stressful time of year.

Some of the highlights include free massages, yoga, boxing and gardening sessions. Free fruit and water is also provided in the Library to help students stay hydrated and healthy and help them with their concentration. And following the success of last year’s doggy de-stress sessions, there will also be a puppy ‘cuddle corner.’

Doggy de-stress
Keele Guide Dog Society will be hosting a ‘doggy de-stress day’ from 11am-3pm on January 11th, where students will be able to chill out and get a cuddle with some adorable puppies courtesy of the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association. Working guide dogs and puppies in training will be on hand to help the students, and also help the puppies socialise as part of their training. There will be small charge for the doggy de-stress session, with all monies raised going towards the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.

Stacey Lyons, President of the Keele Guide Dog Society, said: “We’re trying to raise enough money to name and sponsor a puppy. We are halfway to our target of raising £5000, and hope to raise the full amount by the end of the year.”

In addition to Exam Plus events, the University is also offering daily student support drop-in sessions, where students can get advice and support about any concerns they have during the exam period.
