Photographers from Cheshire, Shropshire and Staffordshire have been invited to submit entries for the Keele University Art Gallery's Three Counties Open Photography Competition.

Photographers may submit up to three photographs in total for the Open Photography Exhibition Awards and could win a first prize of £300. There is also a second prize of £100 and third prize of £50.

Those selected will also have the chance to win one of the following additional prizes:

Hulme Upright Prize: £250
The Art Studio Prize: £100 of art vouchers

The winning entries will be selected by a panel of judges which will be included in an exhibition at the University's Art Gallery, which will run from 26 February to 26 March 2013. This will provide a showcase for photographers in the area and also gives visitors the opportunity to see and buy from a wide range of selected original work.

The aim of the Three Counties Open Photography competition and exhibition is to give photographers from Cheshire, Shropshire and Staffordshire the opportunity to show their work to new audiences. The exhibition is popular with photographers in the region and visitors to the gallery. The high standard of work reflects a wide range of styles and enthusiasm for the medium.

Receiving days for entries are:

Friday 7 February, between 10 am and 4 pm

Saturday 8 February, between 10 am and 1 pm
