Keele University has launched a new scheme to help young learners in the Stoke-on-Trent area who are interested in studying medicine at university.

Steps to Medicine @ Keele (Steps2Med) is a new opportunity for Year 12 students from the local area (Stoke-on-Trent and up to 30 miles radius) who are interested in applying to university to study medicine.

Throughout the scheme the young people will be provided with direct access to Medicine professionals, academics and undergraduate students. d) To ensure prior to application that students understand medicine as a career and the rigours of the course.

The content of the course will include:

a) E-mentoring provided by an existing medical student

b) A day learning how to deal with the application process and the interviews

c) A day attending the Medicine Careers Day (Free of charge)
