A Keele University Hockey Club team will be flying to Germany next week for a charity match against the German under-18 national team.

The Keele team will be flying out on Friday 8th March, play the match on Saturday 9th March and then return to Keele later that day. They are collecting money for the Donna Louise Trust, based on collections they make in their spare time or through their just-giving page (http://www.justgiving.com/keeleVSgermany).

Keele University Hockey Club1st XI captain, Tario Ahlers, said: ”Over the past few weeks and months I have been in touch with the German Hockey Federation and I am delighted that we have managed to arrange this extraordinary event. On the 9th March Keele will be playing a Charity Match against the German U18 national Team. This is not just something which is an amazing opportunity for Keele University but also something which has never been done before. We are collecting money for the Donna Louise Children’s Hospice Trust which is, as you may know, a well-respected charity of our beautiful area.”

The Donna Louise Children’s Hospice provides a range of specialist care and support services for children with a shortened life expectancy and their families.
