Start Up Britain comes to Keele University – if you’re thinking of setting up your own business, then don’t miss this!

Start Up Britain has chosen Keele University as one of the Staffordshire venues during their nationwide tour this October.  The event on 31 October, 9am-12noon at the Sustainability Hub on Keele University Science & Business Park, aims to inspire and encourage you to take that first step in realising your dreams and running your own successful enterprise.

Start Up Britain's co-founder and highly acclaimed entrepreneur Rajeeb Dey will be officially opening the event at Keele University.

There will be lots of businesses, support organisations and entrepreneurs for you to talk to and learn how to take that initial first step to becoming your own boss.  You will also meet other like-minded people who are looking to set up their own business, so it’s a real opportunity for you to network and make some great contacts!
 
Aboard the double decker bus will be business experts including, AXA Insurance, Dell and PayPal, to give you practical business advice.  There’s even a competition to win a Dell Laptop!

In the Sustainability Hub there are lots more business experts for you to talk to; Santander, Michelin Development Fund, Princes Trust, HMRC, Business Enterprise Support and many more.  There’s even some free workshops for you to attend to learn more about social enterprise and generating the next big business idea.  You can also bring along your business plan to our business plan surgery for immediate feedback.

9.00am:   Event Opens

9.30am – 9.45am: Welcome from Rajeeb Dey -  Founder/CEO of www.enternships.com for which he was named the “02 X Young Entrepreneur of the Year” in 2009

10.00am - 10.30am:  The Idea Factory - an informal discussion by Sharon George, helping you to generate the next great business idea (sign up at the Hub reception)

10.45am – 11.15am: Social Enterprise – a presentation by Live UnLtd to introduce social enterprise and how to apply for funding (sign up at the Hub reception)

11.30am – 12noon: Start Up Loans – a short presentation followed by a Q&A session (sign up at the Hub reception)

Designated free parking at the Keele University Science & Business Park only, refreshments and free cupcakes from Cupcake Yourself (one per visitor while stocks last). You will also receive a free goody bag from Start Up Britain.
