Keele University to give students a head start in the job market
Students worried about finding a job after graduation are to get a helping hand from Keele University.
The Students’ Union and University Careers Service have joined forces to support and inform students through the transition to life as a graduate.
Now in its fourth year, ‘What makes you so special?’ is a series of talks and workshops held throughout May and designed to prepare students for the world of work. Sessions include interview tips, personality testing, a look at working in Parliament and a workshop on crafting effective CVs, which kicks off the series on Monday, May 9.
Rachael Moss, development and marketing executive at the Students’ Union, said: “The ‘What Makes You So Special?’ programme of events offers students the opportunity to gain a whole host of additional employability skills, vital in the current competitive jobs market. Here at Keele, our key aims are to assist our students in building their confidence, to help them stand out from the crowd and provide them with a platform from which to build a successful future.”
