Nine one-act plays written by Keele University students will be performed as part of an arts festival in aid of two Staffordshire charities this weekend.

The One Acts Festival will take place from 1pm to 8pm on Saturday, March 26, and Sunday, March 27, in K2 in the Students’ Union on Keele’s campus.

The festival will include acoustic music sets, poetry readings, stand-up comedy, a barbecue and nine short plays. There will be an open mic night on Saturday from 8.30pm, and full bands will be playing from 9pm on Sunday, both in Horwood Bar.

Admission is free but donations to homelessness and domestic violence charity Arch North Staffordshire and Stafford-based charity Child Victims of Crime are welcome.

Jo Flynn, of Keele Drama Society, said: “This will be a relaxing couple of days of entertainment all in aid of two very good causes.”
