Keele University fitness event raises more than £1,200 for cancer charity
Fitness fans at Keele University have raised more than £1,200 for a cancer charity with a 12-hour spinning session.
More than 100 people took part in the fundraising event, which saw 12 one-hour sessions held between 8am and 8pm at the University’s sports centre.
The money raised will go to Orchid, the only UK registered cancer charity to focus entirely on the male-specific cancers, as one of the sports centre team has recently recovered from testicular cancer for a second time.
Fitness instructor Paula Rogerson said the event had surpassed their expectations. She added: “It was a great event for a worthwhile cause, which hopefully has increased the awareness for male students and staff at Keele University.”
