Hundreds of young people are set to descend on Keele University over the Summer as the University’s Widening Participation and Outreach Events team welcome students to their Unifest Residentials. Hundreds of attendees have been recruited from the local and wider area including scores travelling to North Staffordshire from London and Somerset.

The events, where the young people will stay over in the University halls, will aim to raise aspirations and breakdown perceived barriers for the children and young adults, who are all from backgrounds that are under-represented in Higher Education. The young people will be participating in many sessions, lectures and workshops from CSI:Forensics, to How Obama won the election, delivered by Keele lecturers, a flurry of special external guest speakers, to a trip inside an inflatable stardome to inspect  the universe in all of it’s glory.  The academic side of the event will be complimented by social activities, such as Laser Quest in the woods, Disco’s in the Student Union, karaoke, quizzes, sports tournaments and a late night ghost tour of the campus.

The events kick off on 7th July and run until 22nd July.
