Keele: Active Ageing is helping residents at a Newcastle retirement housing property celebrate International Older People’s Day this month.

They have organised an International Food Tasting’ Event at Beaumaris Court, Milford Road, hosted by a Award Winning Chef, Peter Walters, from Keele University, on Thursday 29th September at 6 pm. The event is open to anyone but places are limited.

Those attending will learn how to prepare and cook the following dishes on offer: Sweet and Sour Pork with Noodles, Tandoori Chicken, Beef Bourguignon, Frittata,Tortellini of Spinach and Ricotta, Churros with Hot Chocolate and Tiramisu and Apple Strudel

And with people living and staying active longer, there are opportunities for educational, voluntary and leisure activities well beyond retirement age.

Keele is developing a major programme of engagement with a variety of stakeholders involved with older people as well as groups of older people themselves.
