Biography

I am an experienced lecturer and clinical educator having joined the school in 2008 following roles in both hospital and community pharmacy. I defended my PhD thesis "Collaborative behaviours and professional culture traits in real-time interprofessional clinical simulation" in 2019. Outside of work you'll find me spending time with my young family; playing and watching football or playing the guitar badly. I am also a trustee of Nugent, a charity based in North west England.

Research and scholarship

My main research interests centre on interprofessional education and the development of team intelligence in healthcare settings. I am particularly interested in the psychology and personality traits which underpin how pharmacists and pharmacy students interact with other healthcare professionals; and make their contributions to multidisciplinary teams.

I also work on the development of mobile phone apps to deliver real-time simulation to healthcare students.

Teaching

I mainly teach clinical pharmacy and therapeutics across the MPharm. I am also involved in the delivery of other courses across the faculty including but not limited to interprofessional education, medical microbiology infectious disease and rheumatology.
