Dr Dimitra Blana, Research Fellow in Biomedical Engineering, has been successful in her application to become a member of the EPSRC RISE Cohort.

The RISE campaign (Recognising Inspirational Scientists and Engineers) was launched during the EPSRC’s 20th Anniversary celebrations in 2014, and aims to raise the profile of EPSRC-supported researchers across career stages and disciplines.

Dimitra is a Research Fellow whose interests are in computational modelling and data science for healthcare and rehabilitation, with a current focus on biomechanics and simulation of movement. She is also an avid promotor of Women in STEMM and a supporter of Open Science.

Dimitra attended a two-day training course in public affairs and media in London last week, and has now joined a group of EPSRC-funded researchers who share the ambition to promote engineering and physical sciences to policy makers, industry and the public.
