Study design
A pilot multi-centre 3-arm individually randomised RCT recruiting participants from 4 general practices.
Primary objective
Aims to investigate the feasibility and acceptability of a Health care Assistant led iPOPP intervention to promote walking in older adults with chronic pain, and assess trial design and processes.
Interventions
Randomised to receive usual care (and a pain toolkit), a pedometer (with pedometer guide, walking diary and pain toolkit) or the iPOPP intervention. The iPOPP intervention comprises pain toolkit, two consultations with a health care assistant (HCA) and then 8 weekly motivational prompts to walk.
