Biography
Dr Ivonne Solis-Trapala is a Senior Lecturer in Medical Statistics at Keele University. She obtained her PhD in Statistics from the University of Cambridge in 2004. Before joining Keele in 2015, she worked as a Senior Biostatistician at MRC Human Nutrition Research in Cambridge. Prior to this, Ivonne held a 4-year MRC Career Development Fellowship
in Biostatistics at Lancaster University.
Ivonne’s research focuses on applied and methodological aspects of statistics, particularly in nutritional biostatistics, secondary care and cancer research. Ivonne is the Deputy Director of the Keele Hub of the NIHR Research Design Service for the West Midlands. She is a member of Keele’s Biostatistics Group, Renal Research Group and Institute for Global Health within the School of Primary, Community and Social Care.
Research and scholarship
The main strands within Dr Solis-Trapala’s research portfolio of applied and methodological statistics are:
- Semicontinuous data and measurement error with application to nutritional biostatistics
- Statistical modelling of complex multivariate dependent data
- Graphical Markov modelling
- Analysis of time-to-event data.
Further information
Dr Solis-Trapala is a fellow of the Royal Statistical Society. She sits on several external Trial Steering Committees, some as chair, and is a regular reviewer for leading UK research funders, including NIHR Health Technology Assessment, NIHR Health Services and Delivery Research, MRC, EPSRC and ESRC.
